BDSIP Event & CPD Terms and Conditions
By using BDSIP’s website to access training and events you are agreeing to all terms and conditions associated with event registration, including charging and cancellation policies.
The information you provide will be stored electronically and used by BDSIP where appropriate for administrative and statistical purposes, in compliance with the 1998 Data Protection Act. BDSIP may occasionally promote training which is provided by third parties who may wish to use the information you provide. Third party events will be clearly indicated at time of booking.
Registrations
Applications can be made online either by individual members of staff or via the organisation’s bursar or manager. BDSIP reserve the right to contact the school to confirm delegate information at any time after registration.
Booking will primarily be completed via our online booking platform or via email correspondence. Any registrations via telephone will need to be supported by an email from a manager or bursar. All places on events must be pre-booked including those offered free of charge.
BDSIP reserves the right to restrict participation to pre-booked applicants, as additional attendees who have not booked may exceed the maximum course numbers and adversely affect participants' experience.
Confirmation of booking
Completed registrations will be confirmed via automated email to delegates. BDSIP reserves the right to limit the number of people booking from the same organisation for some events.
Where an event is oversubscribed applications will be placed on a waiting list and will be contacted if places become available. Unsuccessful applicants held on a waiting list will be retained and contacted when future courses are organised.
If your name is not included in our pre-registered list and you do not have a copy of a substitution confirmation, you may be refused entry if the course is oversubscribed.
Charging
Event fees will be clearly displayed in event descriptions on course pages at time of booking.
Invoices will be issued within 4 weeks of the event taking place. The payment terms and conditions will be stated on the invoice(s).
Late arrivals for training events
Delegates are advised to arrive 15 minutes before the start time (this allows for registration and refreshment time). The attendance register must be signed by all delegates. Failure to sign may result in a non-attendance charge being applied.
If you arrive later than 10 minutes after the advertised start time you may be refused entry into the training event. The trainer will make a decision to accept entry for late attendees based upon the length of the course and the nature of the course content.
Course changes or cancellation
Every attempt will be made to provide the event in the form described in the event outline. When there are significant changes (for example, date, venue or trainer) applicants will be notified of these changes by email at least five working days prior to the start of the event.
We regret that any expenses incurred by delegates, other than the course fee, cannot be reimbursed.
Course cancellation by BDSIP or third party organisers
It is our policy not to postpone or cancel a course. In the unlikely event that a course needs to be cancelled, we aim to provide applicants with a minimum of five working days’ notice of cancellation.
Circumstances of shorter cancellation could include:
- If late cancellations by delegates affect the viability of the course, remaining applicants will be informed via email as soon as possible.
- In the case of unforeseen circumstances i.e. trainer illness or adverse weather conditions. Where possible, delegates will be notified by email as soon as the circumstance is known. The venue will also be notified of the situation.
In the case of event cancellation by the organisers, applicants will not be charged, and the organisers will try to ensure that participants are sent information about equivalent events as soon as possible.
Course cancellation by applicant
All cancellations must be made using the 'Cancel booking' function linked in the automated event confirmation email or sent to cpdevents@bdsip.co.uk at least five working days of the course delivery date.
Cancellations 5 – 10 days prior to the course date will be eligible for a 50% refund.
Cancellations within 5 days prior to the course date will not be eligible for a refund.
No cancellation charge would be made if within five working days a delegate is replaced by another delegate from the same school. Details of the replacement will need to be sent to cpdevents@bdsip.co.uk
Cases of non-attendance due to illness, bereavement, special leave, school Ofsted inspection or having to attend court in a professional capacity will be considered when confirmation of the reason has been sent by the manager.
Evaluation
Each attendee will be expected to complete an evaluation of the event. This information will be used to inform and develop our CPD and event programme.
