SEND & Inclusion Conference: Removing barriers to learning - Inclusive practice for all
Our sixth annual conference will explore a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) as a framework for strengthening universal provision and high quality first teaching to support the inclusion of all learners in all educational settings.
Description
What will the conference cover?
The sixth annual BDSIP Inclusion Conference will support delegates to:
- Understand the urgent need to remove barriers to learning for all children
- Experience a Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
- Develop their knowledge of how to implement UDL in your school, whatever your role.
- Create a whole school vision centred around UDL
- Support teaching staff to create a universal offer with UDL as part of their daily practice
- Enhance pupil engagement and motivation by providing personalised learning experiences.
- Support the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills through diverse learning opportunities.
Why should I attend?
A Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach aims to optimise teaching and learning for all pupils by providing multiple means of engagement, representation, and action and expression. This approach is grounded in the understanding that pupils have diverse backgrounds, interests, and learning needs.
If you work in an educational environment and have an interest and/or responsibilities for Inclusion, and you want to provide an ethos that supports all learners to be part of a classroom environment, then this conference is for you.
With the increased numbers of children with complex needs entering the mainstream classroom, there is a need for for educators to respond whilst also reinvigorating their pedagogy.
If you are looking to enrich the learning environment for all pupils but also want to prepare them for a diverse and changing world, we look forward to seeing you on 16th January 2025.
