RSJ “all aboard”

This network is a professional learning community for SENCOs and Inclusion leads. The aim of this community is to provide a forum for learning and reflection that supports the development of inclusive practice within your school settings.

For this network, we will be joined by Peter Warwick, our associate maths adviser who will be delivering a session on oracy and maths. We will also be reviewing our learning from the deputy heads conference and identifying future training needs.

This course will update senior leaders on the assessment and reporting arrangements for 2024.

Agenda: To review on examination performance, provide an update on WalkThrus, go through courses for non-GCSE students and the Sixth form curriculum and numbers, and how to reduce the achievement gap.

This course will provide you with an insight into why there is a growing need for non clinical supervision nationally in the educational environment, the impact on school life without it, and how this can be undertaken safely so that staff are better supported to 'emotionally hold' your most complex cohorts.

This course will enhance your knowledge of current wellbeing guidance and how you can implement strategies within your educational environment to support the wellbeing of all staff.

This course will develop your self awareness of your own wellbeing, what healthy looks like and the strategies to promote this.

This course will look at common mental health problems, their signs/symptoms and provide strategies for support.

Free for schools in LBBD. This course will explore how to conduct a meeting – environment, preparation, action plan - What to do when conversations become difficult, and the issues you may encounter during parent meetings.

This is the first RSJ Network for the 2024 - 25 Academic year. This event will be a relaunch of the RSJ work and an opportunity to begin a year of working more collaboratively with other schools. We should have the Young Mayor of Barking and Dagenham in attendance, as well as a representative from Hemisphere Education who work with schools to build their racial literacy.

Annual Headteachers Conference 2025. This year's theme is Tomorrow's Schools

An opportunity for headteachers to explore how to have the conversations which we can sometimes find most difficult, exploring psychological safety and how to respond constructively to challenging issues, including in relation to race and social justice.

This training will provide B&D secondary schools with access to new schemes of work that have been developed for teaching RE in our schools.

This briefing will provide SLT members with the NEW B&D SACRE ADVICE on fulfilling a schools legal responsibility for Collective Worship (CW)

Free for schools based in LBBD. A special presentation by Greg Vaughn. Greg will advise on removing a child’s name from the roll of a school, allocations who don’t attend, Children Missing Education (CME) and Elective Home Education (EHE). This presentation aims to assist attendance officers and school staff to have a better understanding of the law, DfE guidance and borough procedures that govern these areas.

The network meetings will support you with developing a high quality curriculum, evaluating the quality of teaching and learning, supporting and mentoring colleagues, and assessing the attainment and progress of students.

We are really excited to host our annual conference specifically aimed at primary and secondary deputy headteachers. This is a great opportunity to invest in the leadership development of this key group, whilst helping them to build their professional network and share best practice with colleagues from across Barking and Dagenham and neighbouring local authorities.
